Abstract
The rice harvesting process is carried out in two ways, namely the manual
method using a sickle or ani-ani and mechanically using a combine harvester. In
this final project report, the harvesting process uses a Kubota DC-60 combine
harvester machine. A combine harvester is a rice harvesting machine that can
combine cutting, transporting, dropping, sorting, and packaging activities in one
controlled process (Bardono, 2020). At this time, farmers do not understand and
know more about operating techniques, maintenance, and standard operating
procedures for combine harvesters. So it is necessary to carry out a technical study
to be used as a reference and as a manual regarding the operation and maintenance
of the combine harvester. The operating technique has various stages ranging from
preparing a harvesting machine, and how to running a combine harvester. Combine
harvester operations need to apply standard operating procedures starting from
understanding the manual as an operator, wearing clothes that match the
operator's standards, and checking the condition of the machine. The use of a
combine harvester needs to be routinely checked or inspected before and after
harvesting.
