dc.description.abstractABSTRAK Dalam budidaya kentang memerlukan tenaga kerja kerja yang banyak, oleh karena iru diperlukan inovasi yang dapat menanggulangi kehrangan tenaga keria terutama pada saat penanaman untuk mengefisienkan biaya produl<si tanaman kentang. Tujuan pengkniian adalah untuk mengetahui kineria dan-kilayc*an pemanfaatan mesin tanam kentang cli wilayah pertanaman kentang di Sulawesi Selstan. Pengkajian ini clilakscnakan di Desa Pattapang, Kecamatan Tinggimoncang, Kabupaten Gowa. pada bulan Juni * Oktober 2013. Pengkajian dirancang untuk membandingkan dua perlakuan ltaitu (A) Sistem penanaman menggunakan mesin lunam dan (B) Sistem penanaman cara petani, dengan 6 ulangan. Hasit penetitiwt menujul;knn bahwa durasi waldu penanaman mengglnaksn mxin tanam kentang adalah t3,t jam/ha, tlengan jumlah tenaga kerja 3,2a HOK dan menghabiskan BBM 9,ll Yha. Apabila kinerja mesin tanam dibandingkan dengan cara tanam manual yang tnembutuhkrzn tenaga keria 43,72 - 46'97 HOK makn p"rggonoi, mesin tanam dapat menghemnt biaya penanaman Rp. 1.447-00A * Rp. 1.603.500 (67%o) pada tingkat upah Rp. 50.00A,^/HOK. Namun dalam penggunaan aesin tanam ini tertlapat bibit kentang yang tercecer 0,21 - t,40% dan bibit rusak mekanis A,lA - 0,18%a Prcduki umbi kentang yang dihasilian parta perlakuan Sistem penanaman menggunakan mesin tanam 20,89 t/ha tidak berbeda nyato dnrgan produksi kentang pacla Sistem penanuman cara petani 21,10 t/ha. Tingkat pendapatan letani paic perlakuan sistem penanaman menggunakan mesin tan&m kentang lebih tinggi^I,| - 2'2% ^clari tingkat pendapatan pacla perlakuan sistem penanaman cara petani. Berdast rkan analisis kelayakan usaha ieniniubkin baiwa usaha jasa mesin tanam kentang layak dikembangkan knrena pada umur ekonomis selama lima tahun diperoleh B/C ratio 6,60, dan NPlt Rp. 165.44A.25A,- dan IRR 17,71' Kata Kunci: kentang, efektivitas, tanam.en_US
