Intercropping Angelica acutiloba with vegetablesIntercropping A. acutiloba with vegetables was studied to evaluate its effect on A. acutiloba yield and to asses the economic value of different cropping patterns. The experiment was conducted a Nagasari Experimental Garden at Cipanas, West Java fron January to November 1986. The experiment was designed as randomized block design with 10 treatments and 3 replicates and plot size of 2.5 m x 2.5 m.The crop combinations tested were (1) Angelica monoculture (2) cabbage monoculture, (3) maize monoculture, (4) lettuce monoculture, (5) Angelica + cabbage + maize, (6) Angelica + maize + lettuce, (7) Angelica + cabbage + lettuce, (8) Angelica + cabbage, (9) Angelica + maize, (10) Angelica + lettuce. The results showed that intercroppings did not enclose the harvest of Angelica rhizome. Intercropping Angelica with vegetables tended to increase the income. The highest income was obtained from intercropping. Angelica with cabbage + maize, followed by Angelica + cabbage + lettuce and Angelica + cabbage.
