Experiments were conducted in the Entomological Laboratory of the Research Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops, Bogor from July to September 1994. The objective was to investigate the effect of wasted lemon grass ash and garlie powder on stated product insect C. analis. The experiment was designed in a factorial with 2 factors and 3 replications. The two factors were lemon grass ash and garlic powder applied at 0, 1 and 2 % (w/w). The insect used in this experiment was adult aged one day old, from rearing in the laboratory. The result showed that mungbean seeds mixed with lemon grass ash and garlic powder at 1 and 2 % (w/w) and their combinations alfected the insect mortality and inhibited oviposition on the seed surface. The effect of lemon grass ash was higher and faster compared to garlic powder on the base of mortality and inhibition of oviposition.
