Abstract
Abstract Pattern of Rice Marketing in Musi Rawas and East OKU Districts, South Sumatra Province. The objectives of this experiment wash (1) to analyses the existing rice marketing system in the rice production centre of Musi Rawas and East OKU Districts, Province of South Sumatra, (2) to evaluate the margin and the farmer share of rice marketing, (3) to identify pattern of collaboration among those involved in rice marketing activities, as well as its problems. Sampling was carried out through the method of Snowball Sampling Technique. Results of this experiment revealed that (1) enchaining the rice marketing in the Districts of Mura and East OKU there were two patterns of marketing chains namely, (a) the pattern of farmer village retailers district merchant province grocer retailer consumer, (b) the pattern of farmer village retailers province merchant retailer consumer, (2) the value of farmer share in the District of Musi Rawas and East OKU was 78.3and 76.1%, respectively, while the marketing margin was Rp. 1,060 and Rp. 1.100/kg, respectively; (3) there was a mutual understanding cooperation between the farmer and the village retailers, between the village retailers and the district/province merchant. Rice marketing problems faced by the rice merchant in the area were the fluctuating price and the poor quality of rice. Abstrak Percobaan ini bertujuan, (1) untuk menganalisis sistem pemasaran beras yang berjalan di wilayah sentra produksi beras, Kabupaten Musi Rawas dan OKI Timur, Sumatera Selatan, (2) untuk mengetahui marjin pemasaran dan farmer share beras, dan (3) untuk mengidentifikasi pola kerjasama antarpelaku pasar yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pemasaran beras dan permasalahannya. Pengambilan contoh dilaksanakan dengan metode Snowball Sampling Technique. Hasil percobaan ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat dua pola rantai pemasaran beras di Kabupaten Musi Rawas dan OKU Timur, yakni (a) pola petani - pedagang pengumpul desa - pedagang kabupaten pedagang provinsi pedagang pengecer konsumen, dan (b) pola petani pedagang pengumpul desa pedagang provinsi pedagang pengecer konsumen; (2) nilai farmer share di Kabupaten Musi Rawas dan OKU Timur, berturut-turut adalah 78,3% dan 76,1%, sedangkan marjin pemasarannya berturut-turut adalah Rp1.060/kg dan Rp1.100/kg; (3) terdapat ikatan pola kerjasama antara petani dengan pedagang pengumpul desa, antara sebagian besar pedagang pengumpul desa dengan pedagang kabupaten/provinsi, dan tidak ada ikatan antara pedagang kabupaten/provinsi dengan pengecer. Permasalahan yang dihadapi pedagang adalah harga yang fluktuatif dan mutu beras yang rendah.
