Verdcourt) Asal Darmaga, Sukabumi dan Parung(IAARD Press, 2012-12) Juwita ...[at al], Lia; Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bioteknologi dan Sumberdaya Genetik PertanianEstablishment of Based Population of Bambara Groundnut (Vigna subterranean (L.) Verdcourt) from Darmaga, Sukabumi and Parung for Yield Improvement. Bambara groundnut contain carbohydrates, high protein and relatively low fat, so it can be used as alternative food. In addition, bambara groundnut can also be used as alternative plant on drought condition. Productivity increasing effort by genetic improvement is difficult, so we can use phenotipe characters to select high yield variety. The aim of this research is to form base population which is can be used for high yield selection in Bambara Groundnut origin Darmaga, Parung and Sukabumi. Observational data is analyzed by mean, correlation and homogeneity of correlation coefficients. Bambara Groundnut origin Sukabumi is potential to develope because it has long interval of value, high mean and large varian. Variable of canopy diameter is one of the variables that can be used to predict the yield, this is accordance with the result of corelation test which has possitive value. So it can be concluded that by selecting phenotype character of Bambara Groundnut, in this reseach canopy diameter, we can get high yield plant. Homogeneity test of the correlation coefficient between the diameter of the canopy with the number of pithy pods and diameter of the canopy with number of cipo pods homogeneous, so this correlation can be used as a reference for selection in all three populations of Bambara Groundnut.
