Abstract
Implementation of ICM Field School in Rural Areas in East Lombok. It was reported that the implementation of the integrated crop management (ICM) increased grain yield by 37% over those managed through the farmer's practices. In order to increase both the rice production and farmers' income, it would be necessary to bring the ICM into the farmer's fields. A demonstration plot of ICM with its component of the new HYV has been carried out in North Jenggik Village, Montong Gading Sub-district, East Lombok District. Rice crops established through the implementation of square planting of 20 cm x 20 cm in space and in-row planting legowo of 40 cm x 20 cm x 10 cm in space with planting young seedlings of 2-3 seedlings/hole were introduced to the farmers under guidance of extension workers and researchers. Farmers' field school was conducted to train farmers on HYV, ICM, and integrated pest management. Data indicated that the average yield harvested from 10 HYVs were 7.1 t/ha, with the range of yield were of 6.7-7.4 t/ha. The yield of HYV by farmers' practice was 6.7 t/ha. Planting in-row, "legowo" increased yield by 6%. Five HYVs, Mekongga, Cibogo, Cimelati, Tukad Unda. and Cilosari planted in legowo planting system yielded 27.5 t/ha. Mean income of planting 10 HYVs in the demonstration plot was Rp17,552,833 with the range of Rp16,670,400 to Rp18,544,900. The mean cost for rice production was Rp5,233,617 and, therefore, the mean benefit obtained by the farmers was Rp12,329,217 per ha/season. The highest benefit were obtained by planting rice in legowo, followed by square planting system and farmers' practice with values of Rp13,155,400, Rp12,213,800 and Rp11,618,360, respectively. The additional cost due to the adoption of square and legowo planting systems were Rp100,000 and Rp150,000 per ha, respectively. The additional cost was considerably small as related to the overall farmers benefit obtained from adopting these planting methods.
Abstrak
Hasil penelitian budidaya produksi padi melalui Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (PTT) dengan komponen varietas unggul dapat menghasilkan gabah 37% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil gabah petani. Untuk meningkatkan produksi dan pendapatan petani padi, perlu diseminasi PTT dengan baik. Demplot PTT dengan komponen utama beberapa varietas unggul telah dilakukan di Desa Jenggik Utara, Kecamatan Montong Gading, Lombok Timur. Kondisi lapan lapangan, respons petani, dan dukungan aparat setempat cukup baik. Hasil demplot menunjukkan bahwa hasil rata-rata 10 varietas unggul yang dikelola dengan 3 cara tanam mencapai 7,10 t/ha GKG, dengan kisaran 6,73 t/ha GKG (Ciliwung) sampai 7,37 t/ha GKG (Mekongga). Hasil gabah paling rendah sebesar 6,74 t/ha GKG diperoleh dari pertanaman yang dikelola menurut cara non-PTT (petani). Upaya perbaikan cara tanam dengan menerapkan sistem tanam tegel dengan jarak tanam 20 cm x 20 cm dan sistem tanam dalam barisan "jajar legowo" dengan jarak tananı ((20 x 10) x 40) cm dapat menghasilkan berturut-turut sebesar 7,05 dan 7,50 t/ha GKG atau terjadi peningkatan hasil sebesar 5-11%. Melalui tanam jajar legowo 5 varietas, yaitu Mekongga, Cibogo, Cimelati, Tukad Unda, dan Cilosari mampu menghasilkan gabah 27,5 t/ha GKG. Rata-rata pendapatan bruto mencapai Rp17.552.833 dengan kisaran Rp16.670.400 sampai Rp18.544.900. Pendapatan tertinggi diperoleh petani yang menerapkan cara tanam jajar legowo dan yang paling rendah pada petani yang menerapkan cara tanam non-PTT. Dengan rata-rata biaya produkksi sebesar Rp5.223.617, maka keuntungan petani dapat mencapai Rp12.329.217. Sebagaimana hasil gabahnya. kruntungan tertinggi juga diperoleh dari pertanaman yang dikelola dengan cara tanam jajar legowo diikuti oleh pertanaman yang dikelola dengan cara tanarn tegel, dan terakhir pada pertanaman yang dikelola dengan cara tanam petani, berturut-turut sebesar Rp13.155.410, Rp12.213.880, dan Rp11.618.360 per ha. Tambahan braya tanam sebesar Rp100.000 dan Rp150.000, berturut-turut untuk sistem tanam tegel dan sistem tanam jajar legowo masih lebih menguntungkan dibanding cara tanam petani.
