dc.description | ABSTRAKCurah hujan menjadi faktor penentu bagi pengusahaan kapas baik di lahan sawah maupun lahan kering. Analisis sebaran hujan dilakukan berdasarkan seri data curah hujan jangka panjang untuk mengetahui peluang turun hujan pada berbagai jumlah curah hujan di Kabupaten Lamongan (Kec. Mantup) sebagai salah satu indikator keberhasilan pengembangan kapas di Jawa Timur. Dengan mengetahui sebaran hujan selama musim tanam, maka kebutuhan tambahan air irigasi dapat ditentukan. Curah hujan selama musim hujan terdistribusi mulai Nopember hingga April dan berpeluang turun (60%) antara 200-250 mm/bulan. Mulai Mei hingga Oktober (musim kemarau) rata-rata jumlah hujan kurang dari 50 mm/bulan dengan peluang hujan 60%. Penanaman kapas dan kedelai sebaiknya dilakukan sesegera mungkin, paling lambat seminggu setelah padi dipanen atau awal Maret. Penanaman padi dilakukan pada awal musim hujan yaitu Nopember atau Desember. Apabila total curah hujan selama musim tanam kapas lebih dari 500 mm maka kebutuhan tambahan air irigasi pada tanaman kapas berkisar 100 mm yang dapat diberikan dalam dua kali irigasi. Tambahan air irigasi tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan penyiraman langsung yang sumber airnya berasal dari sumur dangkal yang tersebar di beberapa lokasi. Kebutuhan air tersebut akan semakin meningkat apabila waktu tanam kapas dan kedelai semakin mundur. Pemanfaatan sumur dangkal dan embung sangat dianjurkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air pada musim kemarau, dan pengelolaan tanaman antara lain dengan mengatur kerapatan tanaman dan pemberian mulsa juga dianjurkan untuk menekan evaporasi.Kata kunci : Kapas, Gossypium hirsutum, sebaran hujan, hujan, waktu tanam, Jawa Timur ABSTRACTRainfall Distribution As The Base to Determine Cotton Planting Time on The Rice Field in Lamongan, East JavaRainfall is a determining factor in cotton production on rice field and dry areas. Rainfall analysis is determined based on rainfall data in the long period, to estimate the probability of having certain amount of rainfall from January to December in Lamongan (Mantup District), East Java as and indicator for successful cotton development in East Java. By recognizing rainfall distribution during planting season, the need for irrigation water can be determined. Total rainfall of 200-250 mm/month occurred during the rainy season from November to April with 60% of probability. Moreover, rainfall less than 50 mm/month occurred during the dry season from May to October with 60 % of probability. Cotton planting should be done as soon as possible, or, a week after rice harvesting (early March). Rice should be planted early rainy season in November or December. When the total rainfall is greater than 500 mm over the growing season, the need for additional irrigation water is only about 100 mm, which can be applied 2 times. Water from a nearby shallow well was used for watering. The additional irrigation can be taken from the wells near the location. The need for irrigation water will increase if the cotton and soybean planting is delayed. The use of wells and embung is recommended to supply the additional irrigation waterduring dry season, and crop management, plant density and mulching are also recommended to reduse evaporation.Key words : Cotton, Gossypium hirsutum, rainfall distribution, rainfall, planting time, East Java. | en-US |
