dc.description.abstractReservoir: Alternative of water resources to increase upland productivity. Watershed's patch capacity escalation by made reservoir could be diminishing runoff volume and enhancing of soil water content. The purposed of the research was enhanced water resources availability dan crops productivity in upland area. The research was conducted in Cianjur regency. In the initial step we bring about Rapid Rural Apraisal (RRA), besides that climate and soil resouces. All of the information were analysed by economic and crop water balance. The implementation of water balance analysis were conducted by field experiment on chili. The results of the experiment showed that chili plantation in the end of dry season or the early of rainy season (Oct. 2 and 9, 2003), on the early planting time indicated unsatisfied crop's growing. In the early planting date on Oct 2, 2003, the crops.had been suffered from water stress indicated by ETRIETM ratio bellow 0.65. The planting date of Oct. 2 and 9, 2003 showed relative yield lost about 7 and 1 %. Reservoir could be utilized as a source of suplement irrigation at dry season, and increased the planting area.
