dc.description.abstractRibboner two cylinder type produce ribbon from kenaf and allied stem so it could ribbon ratting which is less budget than traditional ratting. The previous nbboner produce fibre with lower fibre strenght compare with traditional ratting process, due to impact of hammer system of this separation. This experiment conducted at Malang during 2002. To improve the ribboner performance, the important think is replace the impact system to another system e.g. to broke in small pieces with two cylinders contains fin with overlap partial. In this part the stem push intrough. While the cylinders revolving the stem will broken but not the ribbon.. After the component had made followed by assembling and functional testing. The result of the teset showed that the capacity reach 500 - 600 kg/hour fresh kenaf stem, with Rp. 32,40/kg for separate the bark. We hope this new machine could produce ribbon and fbre with good quality. Strengthtening (Tenacity) of the fibre reach 19,19 gram/text - 20,61 gram/text.
