| dc.description.abstract | Bacterial leaf blight (BLB) of rice is among the most devastating pathosystem of rice in nearly all the rice growing localities in tropical and temperate regions especially in Asian countries. Increasing the productivity of rice can be done by using high-yielding varieties, which are produced through crosses and selection of lines that have superior characteristics or by the introduction of lines from the other country. The aim of the study was to identify the variability of the BLB resistance performance on Indonesian local and introduction rice lines from Asian countries: Indonesia, Laos, Philippines and Malaysia. The BLB races used for screening were the three dominat BLB races, R-III, IV and VIII. The observations were made on14 days after inoculation by measuring the length of the third and fourth leaves of the flag leaf and the length of the attack symptoms. Attack intensity (IS) was calculated using the formula IS = PS/PD × 100%, where PS = length of attack symptoms and PD = observed leaf length The response variability of Asian rice accession resistance response to 3 HDB disease test Pathotypes, namely pathotype-III, IV and VIII varied from sensitive (R) to highly resistant (HR) response. Among the introduced rice accessions tested, rice accessions from Malaysia showed the most variability, where there were several accessions that showed resistant (R) and very resistant (MR) responses. The results of the evaluation of the resistance response variability of Asian rice accessions need to be continued at the molecular evaluation level so that it can be understood more clearly whether the source of resistance is a new gene/allele or the same gene/allele in Conde and Angke. | en_US |
