dc.description.abstractAbstract Performance of Local Lowland Rice Varieties in Three Different Environments. Field evaluation of Ceredek local variety of lowland rice to study the agronomic performance, yield components, and the yield potentials were conducted in Sumani (300 m above sea level), Katialo (600 m above sea level), and Rawang (900 m above sea level) in Solok District, during the DS of 2008. The experimental was arranged in randomized complete block design with three replications, with plot of 4 m x 4 m in size. The crops were fertilized with urea, SP36, and KCl, at the rates of 150, 100, and 50 kg/ha, respectively. Result of the assessment indicated that the best lowland rice varieties in the three test locations were Padi Kuning and Padi Kutu in which they yielded up to 4,6 t/ha with the average plant heights were 116.6 cm and 144.4 cm, respectively. Unfortunately, the two varieties were susceptible to lodging. The other two varieties (Ceredek Putih and Ceredek Merah) reached the average yield of 3,7 and 3,3 t/ha, respectively, they were resistant to lodging, medium plant height (103,6 cm and 107,0 cm, respectively), and mature at 142 DAT. Abstrak Pengujian varietas lokal padi sawah untuk mengevaluasi penampilan agronomi, komponen hasil, dan hasil telah dilakukan di Sumani (300 m dpl), Katialo (600 m dpl), dan Rawang (900 m dpl) di Kabupaten Solok pada MH 2008. Percobaan ditata dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga ulangan, ukuran plot 4 m x 4 m. Pertanaman dipupuk urea, SP36, dan KCl, dengan dosis berturut-turut 150 kg. 100 kg, dan 50 kg/ha. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa dua varietas, yaitu Padi Kuning dan Padi Kutu menghasilkan berturut-turut 4.6 t dan 4,6 t/ha, berbatang tinggi (masing-masing 116,6 cm dan 144,4 cm), dan mudah rebah. Dua varietas yang lain, Ceredek Putih dan Ceredek Merah berturut-turut menghasilkan rata-rata 3,7 t dan 3,3 t/ha, berbatang kuat, tahan rebah, tinggi tanaman termasuk sedang (berturut-turut 103,6 cm dan 107,0 cm), dan umur keduanya 142 hari.
