dc.descriptionABSTRACT The Analyzes of Technical Efficiency on Rice Farming in West Seram District. The study has been done on technical irrigated land in the district of West Seram (SBB), Maluku Province. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting rice production and the level of technical efficiency and the factors affecting technical efficiency on irrigated land. Method of Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) is used to estimate the parameters of the stochastic frontier production function in the form of Cobb-Douglash and linear regression with OLS method to estimate the determinants of technical efficiency. The results showed that there are three independent variables that significantly positive affect the output are Urea, NPK pelangi, and labor. Average level of technical efficiency 0.869 (range 0.684 to 0.967), by applying appropriate skills and cultivation techniques in the most efficient farmers average farmer will be able to save the cost of 10.16%. Factors area and transplanting system has positive significant effect on the level of technical efficiency of rice farming. Key words: Rice, stochastic frontier,technical efficiency ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan pada lahan sawah irigasi teknis di Kabupaten Seram Bagian Barat (SBB), Provinsi Maluku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat efisiensi teknis usahatani padi sawah di lahan sawah irigasi dan serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Metode Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) digunakan untuk mengestimasi parameter pada fungsi produksi frontir stokastik dalam bentuk fungsi Cobb-Douglash dan regresi linier dengan metode OLS untuk mengestimasi faktor yang mempengaruhi efisiensi teknis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang berpengaruh nyata positip terhadap produksi padi yaitu Urea, NPK pelangi, dan tenaga kerja. Rata rata tingkat efisiensi teknis sebesar 0,869 (kisaran 0,684 – 0,967), yang berarti petani masih dapat meningkatkan produktivitas. Dengan menerapkan keterampilan dan teknik budidaya sesuai petani yang paling efisien, maka petani akan dapat menghemat biaya sebesar 10,16%. Faktor luas lahan dan sistem tanam pindah berpengaruh nyata dan positip terhadap tingkat efisiensi teknis usahatani padi sawah.. Kata kunci: Padi  sawah, frontir stokastik, efisien teknisen-US
