Abstract
Description
Gunadi, N. and Subhan. 2007. Response of Tomato on the Application of Mycorrhizae Fungi in Marginal Land. An experiment to determine the response of mycorrhizae fungi application in tomato grown in marginal land was conducted at a farmer’s field in Lemahneundeut Village, Cisurupan Sub-district (1,500 m asl), Garut District, West Java, from July 2001 until December 2001. Two treatment’s factors i.e. factor (1) mycorrhizae application (without and using mycorrhizae 2 g per plant) and factor (2) phosphate fertilizer rate (0, 45, 90, 135, and 180 kg P2O5/ha), were arranged in a randomized block design with 4 replications. The results show that although P uptake in tomato increased with mycorrhizae fungi application, in general mycorrhizae fungi application did not affect significantly to several growth parameters and yield component of tomato. Significant effect of mycorrhizae fungi application was only indicated in total plant dry weight at 9 weeks after planting. The use of phosphate fertilizer at 45 kg P2O5/ha increased significantly on total plant dry weight and yield component such as total fruit weight per plot and fruit number per plot (15 m2).
