    IBM KAMPUNG KAMERI YANG MENGALAMI MASALAH PERONTOKAN POKEM

    Pokem or wheat Papua is one of the papua local food, which has a strategically cultural value. Pokem postharvest processing especially at the threshing stage was done in a conventional/traditional manner, so this method is very complicated and inefficient as well as has a limited capacity. To optimize the postharvest processing especially in the threshing process, the appropriate equipment that can work more quickly, efficiently and easily operated was required. The purpose of this study is to design a prototype of mechanical pokem thresher with a petrol engine drive to increase the threshing efficiency and capacity. This research was conducted with two stages, the first stage is to design a prototype mechanical pokem thresher and the second is a application in Numfor. Results of this research is a prototype of mechanical pokem thresher and the test results showed that the average of threshing capacity is 18 kg/h, the average of threshing efficiency is 86% and the average of percentage panicles separation is 96,4%. This pokem thresher has applicated in Numfor Kameri Village.
