    Studi Penggunaan Varietas Unggul Baru Berdaya Hasil Tinggi di Desa Kebonagung, Imogiri, Bantul

    Abstract Evaluation on the Use of New High Yielding Varieties of Rice in Kebonagung Village, Imogiri Sab-district, Bantul District. An experiment to evaluate the performance of four rice varieties of Ciherang, Singkil, Fatmawati, and IR64 managed in the Integrated Crop and Resources Management (ICM) was conducted in the village of Kebonagung, Imogiri, Bantul, during the wet season of 2007/2008. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design with three replications. Results of the trials indicated that the yields reached 8.03 t, 8.67 t, and 7.2 t/ha milling dried grain for. Ciherang, Singkil, and IR64, respectively. Meanwhile, under the transplanting management of in-row planting and direct seeding, yields of the variety Fatmawati reached 8.33 t and 9.12 t/ha, respectively. Urea fertilizer applied at the rate of 125-250 kg/ha improved rice yields, and therefore it was recommended to be adopted in that particular area. As a whole, the fertilizers of urea, SP36, and KCI at the rates of 250 kg. 100 kg, and 100 kg/ha, respectively, shall be adopted in this particular area. Organic fertilizer is strongly recommended, since it maintains the soil fertility and improves grain quality. Abstrak Percobaan untuk mengevalasi penampilan empat varietas padi. Ciherang, Singkil, Fatmawati, dan IR64 yang dikelola melalui pengelolaan tanaman terpadu (PTT), telah dilakukan di Desa Kebonagung. Imogiri, Bantul, pada MH 2007/2008. Percobaan ditata dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil gabah varietas-varietas Ciherang mencapai 8,03 t/ha, Singkil 8,67 t/ha, dan IR64 7,2 t/ha GKP. Hasil tinggi sebanyak 9,12 t. 8,33 t, dan 9,12 t/ha GKP dicapai oleh varietas Fatmawati yang berturut-turut ditanam dengan sistem tanam pindah, legowo, dan tabela. Pupuk urea dengan dosis antara 125-250 kg/ha mampu menghasilkan hasil gabah yang tinggi, sehingga dapat direkomendasikan untuk dipakai di kawasan tersebut di atas. Secara keseluruhan takaran pupuk anjuran untuk urea, SP36, dan KCI berturut-turut adalah 250 kg, 100 kg, dan 100 kg/ha. Bahan organik sangat dianjurkan, di samping dapat mempertahankan kesuburan tanah, hasil percobaan ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan organik dapat menurunkan butir gabah hijau dan meningkatkan gabah isi (bernas).
