    Galur Harapan Padi Untuk Lahan Rawa dan Rawan Banjir

    Abstract The Promising Rice Lines of Swampy and Flood Prone Area. Swampy and flood prone areas available in Indonesia are pretty wide and when utilized for growing rice, it may contribute meaningfully to the availability of rice in the country. From 2008 to 2009, a total of 9 genotypes and 3 check varieties have been tested in Karang-Agung (South Sumatera), Indramayu (West Java), Cilacap, Kebumen, and Purworejo (Central Java), as well as in Bojonegoro (East Java). The trials were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. The seedlings of 21-25 days of age and 2-3 seedlings per hill were transplanted into plots of 5 m x 4 m in size, with the planting space of 25 cm x 25 cm. The rice crops were fertilized with urea, TSP, and KCI at the rates of 150, 100, and 100 kg/ha, respectively. Results of the trials indicated that the genotype BP1027-F-PN-1-2-1-KN-MR-3-3 yielded the highest (5.87 t/ha) while the three check varieties IR42, Batanghari, and IR64 produced 5.17, 5.81, and 4.99 t/ha, respectively. Three breeding lines, B10891B-MR-3-KN-4-1-1-MR-1, TOX4136-5-1-1-KY-3, and B11586F-MR-11-2-2 yielded higher than IR42, i.e. 5.50. 5.25, and 5.21 t/ha, respectively. One line, BP367E-MR-42-4-PN-3-MR-4 yielded 5.16 t/ha, higher than that of IR64. The line BP1027-F-PN-1-2-1-KN-MR-3-3 had 66% rough rice, 94% head rice, good rice texture and eating quality, 24.43% amylose content, long grain, small chalkiness, medium rice shape and resistant to three blast races. The breeding line of B11586F-MR-11-2-3 was resistant to rice tungro virus in Karang Agung. Abstrak Lahan rawa dan lahan rawan banjir yang tersedia di Indonesia sangat luas. Oleh karena itu, perlu dimanfaatkan untuk membantu mencukupi kebutuhan beras yang secara nasional terus meningkat. Pada tahun 2008 dan 2009 telah dilakukan pengujian sebanyak sembilan galur dan tiga varietas pembanding di daerah Karang Agung (Sumatera Selatan), Indramayu (Jawa Barat), Kebumen, Cilacap, dan Purworejo (Jawa Tengah) serta Bojonegoro (Jawa Timur). Percobaan dilakukan dalam rancangan acak kelompok dengan empat ulangan. Bibit umur 21 hari ditanam 2-3 bibit/lubang dalam petak berukuran 4 m x 5 m dengan jarak tanam 25 cm x 25 cm. Pertanaman dipupuk dengan urea, TSP, dan KCl dengan dosis berturut-turut 150 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha, dan 100 kg/ha. Hasil pengujian ini menunjukkan bähwa galur BP1027F-PN-1-2-1-KN-MR-3-3 menghasilkan gabah tertinggi sebesar 5,87 t/ha, sedangkan varietas pembanding IR42, Batanghari, dan IR64 berturut-turut menghasilkan 5,17 t/ha, 5,81 t/ha, dan 4,99 t/ha. Tiga galur yang hasilnya lebih tinggi dari varietas IR42 adalah B10891B-MR-3-KN-4-1-1-MR-1 (5,50 t/ha), TOX4136-5-1-1-KY-3 (5,25 t/ha), dan B11586F-MR-11-2-2 (5,21 t/ha). Satu galur, BP367E-MR-42-4-PN-3-MR-4 menghasilkan gabah sebesar 5,16 t/ha, hasil ini lebih tinggi dari hasil varietas pembanding IR64. Galur BP1027F-PN-1-2-1-KN-MR-3-3 memiliki rendemen beras pecah kulit 66%, beras kepala 94%, tekstur nasi sedang dengan rasa nasi enak, kandungan amilosa 24,43%, ukuran beras panjang, pengapuran sedikit, bentuk beras medium, dan tahan terhadap tiga ras penyakit blas. Galur B11586F-MR-11-2-3 tergolong tahan terhadap virus tungro di Karang Agung.

    Ketahanan Galur Padi Rawa Terhadap Wereng Coklat

    Abstract Resistance of Swampy Rice Lines to Brown Plant Hopper. There were a total of 9.5 million ha swampy areas potential to be utilized as a productive agriculture land. The main constrain in the areas were abiotic and biotic in nature. In those areas the rice plants usually grown were local varieties and the yields were low. To obtain rice varieties resistant to the brown plant hopper and have good yield potential, a greenhouse studies have been conducted at Muara Experimental Station, the ICRR, during the year of 2007 and 2008 by the method of seedling box screening test. The rice lines tested were those selected from the early yield test (EYT) and the multi-location test (MLT) trials. The tested lines were infested with the brown planthopper biotype 2 and 3 which have been reared in the Green House of Muara Experimental Station. Results of the screening indicated that the lines of B9858D-KA-55, IR70213-9-CPA-12-UBN-2-1-3-1, and IR70215-2-CPA-2-1-UBN-1-2 were moderately resistant to the BPH biotype 2 and biotype 3, while the line IR70181-5-PM1-1-2-B-1 was resistant to biotype 3 and moderately resistant to biotype 2. Abstrak Ketahanan varietas padi rawa yang ada sekarang terhadap wereng cokelat (Nilaparvata lugens Stal) perlu diuji untuk mendapatkan varietas padi yang tahan terhadap wereng cokelat (WCK). Uji ketahanan beberapa galur padi yang berasal dari Kelti Pemuliaan, BB Padi telah dilakukan di rumah kaca KP Muara, Bogor, BB Padi pada MT 2007 dan 2008. Galur padi yang diuji disemai dalam seedling box screening test, kemudian diinfestasi dengan WCK biotipe 3. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa galur yang agak tahan terhadap WCK biotipe 3 adalah B9858D-KA-55, IR70213-9-CPA-12-UBN-2-1-3-1, dan IR70215-2-CPA-2-1-UBN-1-2. Sementara galur IR70181-5-PM1-1-2-B-1 menunjukkan reaksi tahan dan agak tahan berturut-turut terhadap WCK biotipe 3 dan 2.

    Stabilitas Hasil Galur Harapan Padi Gogo

    Abstract Yield Trial of Upland Rice Promising Lines. During the year of 2009, advance yield trials involving a total of 17 selected promising lines developed by the Indonesian Center for Rice Research, have been conducted in eight locations. These eight experimental locations were Tamanbogo and Pekalongan (East Lampung), Sukabumi and Indramayu (West Java), Banjarnegara (Central Java), Blora and Pacitan (East Java), and Sitiung (West Sumatra). In each location, the trial was arranged in a Randomized Block Design with four replications. Three varieties, Limboto, Batutegi, and Situ Patenggang, were planted as the check plants. The objectives of these experiments were to identify upland rice promising lines adaptive to environmental stress, bear high yielding character, and possess good grain quality. Results of these experiments indicated that the promising line of TB490B-TB-14-3 yielded higher than the three check rice varieties in five locations, Blora, Indramayu, Pacitan, Pekalongan, and Sukabumi. The promising lines of B11338F-TB-26 yielded higher than the check rice plants in three locations, Banjarnegara, Pacitan, and Sukabumi. While the promising line of IR30176-B-2-R-1 yielded higher than the check rice plants in two locations, Pacitan and Sitiung. Two promising lines, namely TB409C-TB-1-2-1 and TB490C-TB-1-21-MR-1-1 yielded higher than the check rice plants in two locations, Indramayu and Sitiung. There evaluation also indicated that the average yield of nine promising lines were higher than that of the cultivars commonly grown in the areas. These nine lines were B11338F-TB-26, B11577E-MR-12-1-1, B11577E-MR-B-13-1-1-5-5, BP702C-Si-5-1-12, B11577E-MR-12-1, IR30176-B-2-R-1. TB490C-TB-14-3, TB490C-TB-1-2-1, and TB490C-TB-1-21-MR-1-1. The highest yield was demonstrated by B11338F-TB-26 and IR30176-B-2-R-1, in Banjarnegara and Sitiung, respectively. Eight promising lines performed good quality character. The promising line of B11338F TB-26 produced the highest milled head rice and posed soft texture, the B11580-MR-7-1-1 was aromatic, and BP19768-2-3-7-TB-1-1 performed the highest head rice with medium texture. Abstrak Pada tahun 2009 telah dilakukan uji daya hasil 17 galur harapan terpilih hasil penelitian Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi di 8 lokasi, Tamanbogo dan, Pekalongan (Lampung Timur), Sukabumi dan Indramayu (Jawa Barat), Banjarnegara (Jawa Tengah). Blora dan Pacitan (Jawa Timur), dan Sitiung (Sumatera Barat). Percobaan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok lengkap dengan empat ulangan. Varietas-varietas Limboto, Batutegi, dan Situ Patenggang. ditanan sebagai pembanding. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi galur harapan padi yang mampu beradaptasi baik di lahan kering, berdaya hasil tinggi, dan memiliki mutu beras yang baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa galur harapan TB490B-TB-14-3 memberikan hasil yang lebih tinggi dari semua varietas pembanding di 5 lingkungan, Blora, Indramayu, Pacitan, Pekalongan, dan Sukabumi, diikuti oleh galur B11338F-TB-26 di tiga lingkungan, Banjarnegara, Pacitan, dan Sukabumi: galur IR30176-B-2-R-1 di dua lingkungan Pacitan dan Sitiung, dan galur TB409C-TB-1-2-1 dan TB4960 TB-1-21-MR-1-1 di dua lingkungan, Indramayu dan Sitiung. Sembilan dari 17 galur harapan yang diuji menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi dari hasil padi yang biasa ditanam di 8 lokasi tersebut di atas. Galur-galur tersebut adalah B11338F-TB-26, B11577E-MR-12-1-1B11577E-MR-B-13-1-1-5-5, BP702C-Si-5-1-12, B11577E-MR-12-1, IR30176-B-2-R-1, TB490C-TB-14-3, TB490C-TB-1-2-1, dan TB490C-TB-1-21-MR-1-1. Hasil tertinggi sebesar 6,18 t/ha dicapai olch galur B11338F-TB-26 di Banjarnegara, diikuti oleh galur IR30176-B-2-R-1 sebesar 6,15 t/ha di Sitiung. Pada pengujian ini terdapat 8 galur yang memiliki mutu beras baik. Galur B11338F-TB-26 memiliki rendemen beras kepala 84% dengan tekstur nasi yang pulen, galur B11580-MR-7-1-1 memiliki sifat beras yang aromatik, sedangkan galur BP19768-2-3-7-T8-1-1 memiliki rendemen beras kepala tertinggi (94%) dan memiliki rasa nasi sedang.
