The major problem of this practice was low light intensiy received by soybean plants which affect growth and yields. The aim of this study was to observe growth and yield performace of large-seed soybean genotypes in shade condition. The research was conducted at Cisarua, Bogor in 2019 using split plot design with three replications. The main plot was consists of 2 levels of shade (without shade and 50% paranet shade) and 7 soybean genotypes as the subplot. Shade has been given since planting to harvesting. Result showed that there were differences in genotypes response to shading. The 50% paranet shade treatment significantly decreases number and dry weight of leaves, diameter of stem, number of branches, number of filled-pods and seed yield, but increase the contain of klorofil a and klorofil b, plant height, flowering days, maturity days,and 100 seed weight. Seed yield on the 50% shade decrease between 3.87% on Biosoy 1 to 33.91% on Lokal Tegal. Stress tolerance index (STI) was 0.30 (Lokal Tegal) until 1.17 (Biosoy 1). Based on filled-pods and yield decreasing percentage and STI value that is higher than shade tolerant variety Dena 1, Biosoy 1 dan genotype 04452/Wilis were identified as large-seed soybean adapted to shading.
- ItemPelestarian In Vitro pada Plasma Nutfah Ubi Jalar, Ubi Kayu, dan Talas(BB Biogen, 2004) Dewi ...[at al], Nurwita; Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bioteknologi dan Sumberdaya Genetik PertanianPlasma nutfah merupakan sumber gen dalam program pemuliaan dalam usaha meningkatkan kualitas tanaman. Keberadaan plasma nutfah diperlukan di masa kini maupun mendatang. Dalam upaya pelestariannya, plasma nutfah tanaman umbi-umbian harus ditanam di lapang sepanjang tahun. Cara ini berisiko terjadinya kehilangan plasma nutfah akibat cekaman lingkungan biotik dan abiotik. Untuk mengurangi risiko ini, pada koleksi plasma nutfah ubi jalar, ubi kayu, dan talas dilakukan pelestarian secara in vitro. Kegiatan dilakukan untuk menambah dan memelihara koleksi in vitro ubi jalar, ubi kayu, dan talas yang telah dimiliki. Hasil kegiatan pada tahun 2004 menunjukkan bahwa dari 70 nomor aksesi ubi jalar yang disterilisasi diperoleh 50 nomor aksesi yang steril. Dari 40 nomor aksesi ubi kayu yang disterilisasi, diperoleh 20 nomor aksesi yang steril. Dari 10 nomor aksesi yang disterilisasi, diperoleh 1 nomor aksesi yang steril. Pemeliharaan telah dilakukan pada koleksi yang baru diperoleh maupun pada koleksi yang telah dimiliki sebelumnya dengan cara mensubkultur tanaman pada media tumbuh yang baru. Hasil aklimatisasi pada koleksi yang telah dikonservasi selama beberapa tahun menunjukkan bahwa tanaman kultur khususnya talas dan ubi jalar dapat tumbuh normal kembali.

Velvet bean (Mucuna pruriens [L.] DC.) is a tropical legume native to Africa and tropical Asia. In Indonesia, this plant is not widely cultivated, although, in some areas in Java, the community processed and fermented the pulse into a food called tempeh benguk. Besides being alternative for protein source, velvet bean can be used as herbal medicine. For decades, IAARD-ICABIOGRAD Gene Bank has been conserved the germplasm of velvet bean from some areas in Indonesia. However, morphological variability of the germplasm has not been reported. The research aimed to describes of phenotypic diversity among velvet bean accessions and focuses on morpho-agronomical characters. A total of 14 characters were observed from 9 accessions using plant descriptor. During the characterization, we found genetic mixture under the same accession. Therefore, we split these mixtures into different accession and assigned a new accession number for them, thus total accessions to be analyzed were 13 accessions. From clustering analysis, we found that these accessions were grouped into four clusters. Accession Koro Rawe Wonogiri was found to be the most distinct genotypes among accessions observed. Further comprehensive characterization should be conducted to reveal more information about diversity among velvet bean germplasm in IAARD-ICABIOGRAD Gene Bank.
