    Skrining Ketahanan Galur Harapan Padi Sawah Terhadap Penyakit Tungro

    Tungro is one of an important rice diseases that becomes a problem in national rice production. Resistant variety was the effectif component to tungro disease management. Screening of rice lines for tungro disease resistance was conducted in the field of Rice Tungro Disease Research Station, Lanrang, South Sulawesi at dry season (DS) 2005. Rice lines were used originated from Rice Research Station, Sukamandi there were 166 new plants type (F1), 622 new plants type, 387 introgress lines and 133 red rice lines. IRTN IRRI methode was applied to evaluate the resistance level of rice lines. Resistance level of varieties were evaluated at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after planting (WAP) to the level of tungro incidence and disease indexes (DI) then calculated according to Standard Evaluation System for Rice, IRRI. Results showed that it have obtained 170 rice lines were resistant to tungro disease included 58 new plants type (F1), 76 new plants type, 9 introgress lines and 27 red rice lines with level of tungro incidence as high as 0-10% and disease indexes in the ranges of 0-1.
