Abstract Potency of Indigenous Endophytic Bacterial Isolates as Biocontrol Agent for Bacteria Bacterial Blight of Rice. An experiment to study the potential of endophytic indigenous bacterial isolates of ICABIOGRAD microbial germplasm collection against bacterial blight (BLB) on rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae has been conducted. Results revealed that the bacterial endophytic isolates were slightly reduced the length of BB lesion. The lowest length of BB lesion was obtained when the endophytic indigenous bacteria were sprayed prior the development of the disease, whilst the slower effect was obtained when the endophytic indigenous bacteria were sprayed at 1 week after inoculation (WAI). Spraying the rice leaves with E 65 and E 95 of endophytic bacteria at the bacterial concentration of 10 cfu/ml prior the development of the disease decreased the length of BB lesion by 34.37 and 30.67%, respectively, meanwhile at 4 WAI only isolates E 65 and E 66 reduced the length of BLB lesion by 16.16 and 13.89%, respectively.
