Effectiveness of Ruji Nut Leaf Extract (Pueraria javanica Benth.) as a Bioherbicide Against Weed Growth Thorn Spinach (Amaranthus spinosus L.)

dc.descriptionThe presence of weeds can affect the growth of the main crop. One example of a weed is spinach thorn (Amaranthus spinosus L.) which has rapid vegetation and is a strong competitor in competing with cultivated plants. Ruji nut (Pueraria javanica Benth.) is a legume plant that is deliberately planted in oil palm plantations. This study aims to determine the potential of allelopathy at ruji nut leaf to control the growth of thorn spinach weed on the response of weed height, number of leaves, growth rate, phytotoxicity, wet weight and dry weight of weeds. The research was conducted in September - October 2024 at the laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and Taman baru village, Taktakan District Serang City Banten Province 42162. Nonfactorial randomized group design (RGD) was used in this study consisting of treatments P0 (positive control), P1 (70g extract), P2 (140g extract), P3 (210g extract) and P4 (280g extract). The results showed that P3 treatment had a significant effect on the growth rate of 3.82 cm, while P4 had a significant effect on phytotoxicity by 71%, wet weight of 1.43g and dry weight of 0.584g.  en-US
dc.descriptionKeberadaan gulma dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman utama. Salah satu contoh gulma adalah bayam duri (Amaranthus spinosus L.) yang memiliki vegetasi yang cepat dan merupakan kompetitor kuat dalam bersaing dengan tanaman budidaya. Kacang ruji (Pueraria javanica Benth.) merupakan tanaman legum yang sengaja ditanam diperkebunan kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi alelopati daun kacang ruji untuk mengendalikan pertumbuhan gulma bayam duri pada respon tinggi gulma, jumlah daun, laju pertumbuhan, fitotoksisitas, bobot basah dan bobot kering gulma. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan        September - Oktober 2024 bertempat di laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian dan Kp. Taman baru, Kecamatan Taktakan Kota Serang Provinsi Banten 42162. Rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) non faktorial digunakan pada penelitian ini yang terdiri dari perlakuan P0 (kontrol positif), P1 (70g ekstrak), P2 (140g ekstrak), P3 (210g ekstrak) dan P4 (280g ekstrak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan P3 berpengaruh nyata pada laju pertumbuhan 3,82 cm, sedangkan P4 berpengaruh nyata terhadap fitotoksisitas sebesar 71%, bobot basah 1,43g dan bobot kering 0,584g.id-ID
