dc.description.abstractMarketing of ubi Alabio (Discorea al/ata) in South Kalimantan. A survey conducted to know the prospects of ubi Alabio farming in terms of marketing systems and margin of trade order. Data gathered by interviewing 45 ubi Alabio growers, 15 in village collector merchants, and 3 retailer from others village. Ubi Alabio largely planted at freshwater swamps, which contributed as 46,9% to farmers in come. Yield can be increased by improving cultural practices, market availability, and readiness of supporting institutions. Prospects of ubi Alabio farming found profitable showed by values of R/C ratio = 3,59 and trade margin as 25%, while marketing chains found moderately shorten_US
