dc.descriptionABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui virulensi dan ras bakteri patogen Ralstonia solanacearum, pada pertanaman kentang di Kecamatan Pangalengan, Kabupaten Bandung, Jawa Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Desember 2001 di 83 lokasi dari 13 desa. Pengumpulan sampel tanah, tanaman, dan umbi kentang menggunakan metode Kiraly. Pengujian NCM Elisa dengan metode Sylvie Priouw. Kemampuan R.solanacearum mengoksidasi 6 karbohidrat dan uji patogenisitas menggunakan metode AVRDC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isolat R. solanacearum mempunyai sifat virulensi yang berbeda. Hasil uji patogenisitas bakteri ini sangat virulen pada famili solanaceae tomat dan kentang tetapi kurang virulen pada tanaman cabai, jahe, dan terung. Hasil uji kemampuan bakteri dalam mengoksidasi 6 jenis karbohidrat menunjukkan bahwa semua isolat yang dikoleksi dari 13 desa tergolong dalam 2 grup, yaitu bakteri ras 1 biovar III yang berasal dari sampel tanah dan ras 3 biovar II untuk bakteri yang dikoleksi dari sampel tanaman dan umbi kentang.ABSTRACT. Samples of soil, infected plants, and tuber of potato were collected from 83 sites in 13 villages using the Kiraly method. Nitro cellular membrane Elisa test was done using Sylvie Priouw (1996) method. The ability of R. solanacearum to oxydize 6 kinds of carbohydrates and pathogenicity test were done by AVRDC method. The results shown that virulence of R. solanacearum isolates were different among locations. Pathogenicity test of those bacteria shown high virulence in solanaceae family such as tomatoes and potatoes but less virulence in pepper, eggplant, and ginger. Based on the ability of bacteria to oxydize 6 kinds of carbohydrates, all isolates collected from 13 villages were belong to 2 groups, i.e. ras 1 biovar III from soil samples, and race 3 biovar II from plants and potato tubers.en-US
