| dc.description | ABSTRAK. Salah satu alternatif pengendalian CMV yang menginfeksi tanaman krisan adalah menggunakan vaksin CARNA 5. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh CARNA 5 pada umur tanaman yang berbeda untuk mengendalikan CMV pada varietas krisan Reagent Orange. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Rumahkaca dan Laboratorium Virologi Balai Penelitian Tanaman Hias di Segunung, Pacet, Cianjur, Jawa Barat, pada bulan Januari sampai Desember 2002. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah dengan rancangan dasar acak kelompok dengan 3 ulangan. Sebagai petak utama adalah umur tanaman saat disambung, yaitu (1) 2 minggu setelah tanam (MST), (2) 4 MST, dan (3) 6 MST. Sebagai anak petak adalah perlakuan vaksin dan CMV, yaitu (1) perlakuan tanpa vaksin dan tanpa CMV, (2) perlakuan tanpa vaksin tetapi dengan CMV, (3) perlakuan dengan vaksin tetapi tanpa CMV, dan (4) perlakuan dengan vaksin + CMV. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman krisan yang diberi perlakuan vaksin dan tanaman kontrol tidak menunjukkan gejala mosaik. Umur tanaman krisan yang disambung 2, 4 dan 6 MST tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata. Tinggi tanaman, jumlah bunga, dan diameter bunga krisan Reagent Orange tidak memberikan respons yang nyata terhadap perlakuan CMV, walaupun nilai absorbansi virus pada perlakuan CMV berbeda nyata dibandingkan dengan tanpa perlakuan, perlakuan vaksin, dan perlakuan vaksin + CMV. Kualitas bunga krisan Reagent Orange pada perlakuan vaksin + CMV tidak menampakkan warna yang pecah , sedangkan perlakuan CMV menyebabkan tanaman krisan Reagent Orange menghasilkan bentuk bunga yang abnormal. CARNA 5 Vaccine to Protect Chrysanthemum Reagent Orange Variety Against Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV). One of the alternative to control CMV on chrysanthemum was the use of CARNA 5 vaccine. The objective of the experiment was to know the effect of application of CARNA 5 at different plant ages for controlling CMV on chrysanthemum var. Reagent Orange. The experiment was conducted in Virology Laboratory & Screenhouse of Indonesian Ornamental Crops Research Institute at Segunung, Pacet, Cianjur, West Jawa, from January to December 2002. RC BD Split-plot design with 3 replications was used. The main plots were graft inoculation on the plant at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after planting (WAP). The subplot was treatments of vaccine and CMV, i.e. (1) without vaccine and CMV, (2) CMV only, (3) vaccine only, and (4) vaccine + CMV. The results of the experiment showed that chrysanthemum treated with vaccine and control did not show any mosaic symptom. The graft inoculation at 2, 4, and 6 WAP did not show any significant different. Plant height, flower number, and flower diameter did not give significant response to CMV treatment, although virus absorbance value on CMV treatments was significantly different compared to control, vaccine treatment, and vaccine + CMV treatment. The quality of flower color on vaccine + CMV treatment did not show any color breaking, while on CMV treatment produced the abnormal flower form. The vaccine application was able to protect chrysanthemum plants against CMV infection. | en-US |
