Description
Cinnamon oil which is famous.in the International market are derived from Cinnamonum zeylanicum and Cinnamomum Cassia. Cinnamon which is widely planted in Indonesia is C. burntanii. It is used only to Produce dried cinnamon bark which is known At cassia Vera.The twigs and leaf of cinnamon Contain essential oil, however it ussualy being Discarded.C burnmanii oil and C. cassia oil has The same major component (sinnamaldehyde) But at the diffrent concentration. In this experiment the destillation of the twigs and leaf of C. burmanii were don. The distillation of the weight of material and the length of distiltion on the yeild and characteristic of the oil produced the result showed that the yeild and characteristic of the oil was influenced by the weight of the material in the distilation vessel, among the treatment combination is the one using 5.5 kg twig with 5 lus distillation time this Condition produced the oil with 0.38% yield and Carbonyl and sinnamaldehyde content 40.5% And 39.5% respectively. The distilaton of the Leaf was done study the influence of the length Of wilting process and distilaton method on the Yield and characteristic of the oil produced the Result showed that the length of wilting process Influenced the eild and some of the oil Characteristic while distilation method only
