dc.description Pipercuebeba L. Is one of medicinal Crops that is used in jamu industry. Foods and Pharmacy. The possibility to produce Secondary metabolites from callus-derived Leaf through in vitro culture has beedn carried Out at Tissue Culture and Past Harvest Physiology Laboratories, Research institute For Spice and Medicinal Crops (RISMC) Bogor from June 1996 to April 1997. The Experiment was carried out in three stages: (1)callus intitation, (2) callus growth and(3) Analysis secondary compound of piperin. Basal medium used was Murashige and Skoog (MS) enriched with vitamin of group B . Sucrase 30 g/l and agar 8 g/l. For callus Initiation BA(1.0. 3.0 and 5. Mg/l) was Added to medium that already content NAA 0.1.mg/l, for callus growth 2,4-D (0, 0.5. 1.0 And 1.5 mg/l) was added and combined with NAA 0 and 0.1 mg/l. Secundary metabolites Was analysed using Spectofometry U.V. Method. The result showed that the treatment With NAA 0.1 mg/l + BA 5 mg/l was the best Medium for callus intiation. The highest Mean of collusweight was 10,60gr obtained From NAA 0.Q mg/l treatment. The best visual perfomance was also shown Bytreatment with BA 5mg/l +NAA 0.1 mg/l With green callus, fresh and friable. The Highest alkaloid piperin content (0.041 %) Was shown by treatment with 2,4-D1.5 mg/l + BA 5mg/l is. id-ID
