Description
Effect of Glomus spp on percentage of infected root and growth of black pepper.An experiment to study the Effect of Glomus spp on percentage of infected root and growth of black pepper was carried out at Natar Sub Research Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops from June to Desember 1992. The treatments were 1) field soil inoculated with Glomus spp, 2) field soil without Glomus spp, 3) sterilized field soil inoculated with Glomus spp, and 4) sterilized field soil without Glomus spp. The experiment was conducted with a randomized block design, with 10 replicates and 3 plants per treatment. Each plant was inoculated with 50 spores which were isolated from rools of black pepper planted with Gliricidae. Sp. As the living post. Result showed that field soil inoculated with spore of Glomus spp was significantly better then the other treatment, as indicated by the high percentage of roots infected by hyphae, arbuscule and visicle, and increase growth of black pepper interns of number of leaves, plant height, length of root, and number of root branch.
