dc.description Abstrak. Faktor pembatas merupakan faktor penentu perencanaan pemanfaatan lahan. Untuk pengembangan pertanaman tebu perlu mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor yang membatasi pertanaman dan peningkatan produksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan dan faktor pembatas dominan untuk pengembangan tanaman tebu. Analisis dilakukan dengan mencocokkan setiap nilai karakteristik lahan dengan kebutuhan tanaman tebu, lalu menyimpulkannya menggunakan nilai kelas terkecil (hukum minimum) sebagai keputusan kesesuaian lahan. Metode yang digunakan mengacu pada FAO, parameter yang diamati adalah temperatur, curah hujan, drainase, tekstur, kedalaman tanah, KTK, kejenuhan basa, pH H2O, C-organik, N total, P2O5 tersedia, K2O tersedia, lereng, bahaya erosi, banjir, batuan di permukaan, dan singkapan batuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 2.980 ha (21,81%) cukup sesuai (S2) untuk tebu, dan sekitar 10.684 ha (78,19%) sesuai marjinal (S3) dengan faktor pembatas: retensi hara (pH agak alkalis), hara tersedia, drainase, kedalaman tanah dan lereng. Dengan asumsi faktor pembatas tersebut dapat diatasi, maka terjadi perbaikan kelas kesesuaian lahan, dari S3 menjadi S2, dan S2 menjadi S1. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik bahwa hara N merupakan faktor penentu terhadap produktivitas tebu, disusul hara K dan P. Abstract. The limiting factors are the main factor to determine land-use planning. To develop sugarcane plantation, factors that limit crop growth and increase production need to be considered. The purpose of this study was to evaluate land suitability and investigate the dominant limiting factors to develop sugarcane plantation. Analysis was conducted by matching each land characteristic value with sugarcane crop requirement, and then concluded the results using the value of the smallest class (the legal law of the minimum) as land suitability decision. The method used was based on the method of FAO, with the parameters measured were temperature, precipitation, drainage, texture, soil depth, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), base saturation, pH (H2O), organic-C, total N, available P2O5 and K2O, slope, erosion, flooding, and surface rock outcrop. The results showed that approximately 2,980 ha (21.81%) was moderately suitable for sugarcane and about 10,684 ha (78.19%) was marginally suitable (S3) with the limiting factors were nutrient retention (slightly alkaline pH), nutrient availability, poorly drainage, soil depth and slope. Assuming the limiting factors could be overcome, it can improve suitability class, for example from S3 to S2 and S2 to S1. Based on statistical analysis, the nutrient N was the limiting factor to sugarcane productivity followed by potassium and P availability. id-ID
