Abstract
Relation between Season and Yield, Yield Components of Lowland Rice in Bayas Jaya Riau. Yunizar. The climate is the source which is difficult to controlled. In order to get a good production, the agriculture action with climate condition has to be adapted. The purpose of the study was to find the correlation between the climate and the yield differences between wet and dry seasons at Bayas Jaya Riau. Several rice field experiments showed that the rice yields planted at dry season were higher than rice yields planted at rainy season. However, in Bayas Jaya, the rice yield planted at dry season was lower than the rice yield planted in rainy season. The most affecting factor on rice yield in Bayas Jaya was the number of grains/m2. Furthermore, number of grain/m2 mainly was affected by air temperature, intensity of solar radiation and rainfall. The most affecting factor on number of grains/m2 was the average temperature at 45 days before harvesting (mainly 15 days before harvesting). The average of air temperature in this period was 280C. Intensity of solar radiation mainly on generative phase (36-60 days) affected the number of grains/m2. The intensity of the solar radiationin the dry season was 550 cal/cm2/day. However, the optimum solar radiation for lowland rice is 400 cal/cm2/day. Key words : dry season, rainy season, grain yield, yield component, lowland rice
