Abstract
Appropriate weeding periode in black soybean production was not fully appreciated by farmers. The experiments was aimed to determine to critical periode of weed-plant competition in the growth and yield of black soybean seed production. This experiment was conducted in the Experimental Field of Agriculture Faculty, Gadjah Mada University, located in Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Seed quality tests were done in the Green House and laboratory of Seed Technology, Agriculture Faculty, Gadjah Mada University, from May until October 2010. The experiment used Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with free and weedy conditions at varying period from planting time at two weeks interval treatments and with three replications. The observations were Dominan weed was express using Summed Dominance Ratio. The componen of growth were plant height, leaves area index, Net Assimilation Rate, Growth Rate, Harvest Index. The yield of seed were flowering time, number of pot per plant, weight of seed per plant, weight of seed per plot, weight of seed per hectar, weight of 100 seeds, germination percentage and hipotetic vigor. The result of this experiment showed that broad leaved weeds were dominant one. Weeds interfered black soybean growth and yield of seed but not seed quality. The critical periode of plant-weed competition for growth and yield of black soybean seed were two until four weeks after planting.
