Description
A greenhouse experiment was conducted at the Research Intitute for Spice and Medicinal Crops (RIMSC) from October 1991 to January 1992 , to observe effect of water treatmens and NPK fertilizer on the growth of cashew seedlings (Anarcadium occidentale L). The treatments were arranged factorially in completely randomized block design with two replication.The treatments consisted of two factors. The firs factor was watering levels those were : 120, 100, 80, 60, 40,. and 20% field copasity /plant /3 days. The second factor was NPK fertilizer. Namely control (whitot fertilizer) (P1), 5 g urea (P2), 7 g TSP (P3), 5g urea + 1,7 g TSP (P4) 5 g urea + 3,3 g KCI (P5), and 5 g urea + 1,7g TSP +3,3 g KCI(P6). Result showed that the watering treatments di not affect the growth of cashew seedlings , however. The aplications of 40% FC/plant / 3 days tended tomgive the highest bionmas production, especially for the dry weight of both stem and total plant. The application of 1,7g TSP /plant gave the highest plant growth compared to orther treatmens. There was no interaction between water application and NPK fertilizer on the plant growth.
