Abstract
Description
The resistance of ginger clones to bacterial rhizome rot Pseudomonas solanacearum)Bacterial rhizome rot coused by Pseudomonas solanacearum reduces yield of ginger rhizome, Zingiber officinale Rosc., which is used as spice or traditional medicine. Resistant variety method may contribute to control this disease in the context of the integrated pest control. Four ginger clones, i.e.: Yellow, Large, White, Small White andRed were tested agains this bacterium by inoculation method at 111 days after planting in a randomized block design with 5 replicates. Result showed that the Red was the least affected clone, suffering approximately 41.19% leaf injury or 24,70% mortality due to this pathogen. The rest showed no significant difference each others experiencing 68 – 80% mortality, 20 days after inoculation.
