Abstract
Description
Effects of planting date on Solanum khasianum Clarke growth and production at Manoko Lembang.A study on the effect of planting date on the growth and production of Solanum khasianum Clarke was conducted at Manoko Experimental Garden in 1983 to early 1985. The study used a factorially randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was planting date which consisted of 6 different date spaced at 30 day intervals beginning on December 28 and extending through May 28. The second factor was plant varieties, namely athorny, ales thorny and a crooked varieties. The result showed that there were no interaction berween plant varieties and planting date, but planting date had a significant effect on the growth and production of Solanum khasianum. Late January and December produced higher berry yield per plot compared to the other planting date. The yield per plot will decreased by 39 – 62% if they are planted in April or May.
